The Story Behind Kaukauna's Most Trusted Auto Repair Shop
It Started With a Piece of Good Advice
Al Huss has loved cars and trucks since he was a kid. When he was sixteen, he was hanging around a shop one day when a seasoned mechanic pulled him aside and told him something that changed everything: start working on newer vehicles, learn the craft, and you can make something of it.
Al took that advice and ran with it.
He launched Al Huss Auto & Truck out of his home garage in 1991. By 1996, the business had outgrown the space and moved next door. In 1998, he built his first dedicated shop building. By 2002, mechanical repair had grown to make up about 90% of all work, fueling enough momentum to expand into a second building and take on medium and heavy-duty truck service.
More than 30 years later, Al Huss Auto & Truck is a modern, fully equipped, family-owned facility right here in Kaukauna, with technology that rivals any dealership and a team that still cares the same way Al always has.
What We Do and Who We Serve
We are a full-service auto repair shop serving Kaukauna, Freedom, Little Chute, Kimberly, Combined Locks, Wrightstown, Appleton, De Pere, and the rest of Northeast Wisconsin.
Our ASE Master Certified technicians handle everything from oil changes and preventative maintenance to diagnostics, brake repair, engine and transmission work, electrical repair, and ADAS calibration using our Hunter ADAS machine, one of the only ones in the area. We also partner with local businesses for fleet maintenance and DOT inspections, helping keep commercial vehicles safe and on the road with minimal downtime.
